Jessie’s World is a restorative housing program that serves women in reentry or recovery, with and without children by providing gender-responsive supportive housing and care management, while allowing them the opportunity to rebuild their family structure.

While women without children are  welcome, the unique aspect of Jessie’s World is the focus on the family.  Jessie’s World provides programming specifically for children of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated mothers.  This focus on the family is an effective aspect to breaking the cycle of addiction, dysfunction and poverty. Jessie’s World is specifically for women that have been convicted of a crime within the State of Ohio.  Out of state cases are only considered if an Interstate Compact agreement has been approved by Ohio.  County probation cases are also acceptable as long as they are still under supervision. Women in transition from other extenuating circumstances such as homelessness or domestic violence can also be considered.  The mission of Jessie’s World is to help women rebuild their lives and become law-abiding citizens by providing transitional housing and re-entry services upon release from prison or jail.  We provide a clean, drug and alcohol free living in a safe environment.Junge Frau malt ihre Wohnung aus

Jessie’s World offers short and long term housing, care management, food pantry, clothing pantry, job readiness, gender-responsive Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT), parenting classes and support groups, including “Women for Sobriety”, independent living skills, limited transportation, security and monitoring, and community service initiatives.  Additionally, Jessie’s World provides programming specifically for children of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated mothers; Jessie’s World is a collaborative partner with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction– Ohio Reformatory for Women to provide “Virtual Visits”, to children of incarcerated mothers.

At Jessie’s World, children are provided supportive services, such as family reunification and counseling, substance abuse intervention, after school tutoring, and exposure to the cultural arts. This focus on the family is an effective aspect to breaking the cycle of addiction, dysfunction and poverty.

Today, Jessie’s World is owned and operated by NISRE, Inc. (Nothing Into Something Real Estate). The transitional house is licensed and funded in part by The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) and private residents and is under the direction of Renee Johnson, M.S., CDCA, Jessie’s World Program Administrator and Founder.
